How this calculator works
Select a target exercise and a comparison exercise for the same category. The tool subtracts the comparison premium from the target premium. A positive result means the target premium was higher; a negative result means it was lower.
difference = target_premium − comparison_premium
percentage_change = difference / comparison_premium × 100
The comparison premium is the percentage baseline. A zero baseline has no defined percentage change. Reversing the two exercises changes both the sign and the percentage denominator.
This is a comparison of COE premiums. Dealer margins, guaranteed-COE terms, rebates, financing and other components can change the final vehicle price. The premium difference is not proof of what a buyer saved or lost. Gross car ARF is based on OMV, not the COE premium.

What this calculator does not capture
Historical premiums do not predict the next exercise. This tool does not model full vehicle prices, buyer behaviour or the effect of waiting. PQP entries, where available, are stored renewal estimates for the applicable month; they are separate from the premium comparison.
Frequently asked questions
- What drives COE price changes between rounds?
- Each premium results from the submitted reserve prices and available quota in that exercise. A price difference alone does not identify why it occurred or demonstrate a seasonal effect.
- How sensitive is the total car cost to COE changes?
- The tool measures the premium difference only. The final vehicle price depends on the dealer agreement and other charges. Gross car ARF is based on OMV, not on adding COE to OMV; a COE change does not itself change gross ARF.
- Should I wait for COE prices to drop?
- This historical comparison does not predict future premiums or establish an optimal bidding time. Compare an actual quote, your timetable, deposit and alternatives; the Bid Advisor labels are unvalidated descriptions of past observations.
