Following a Live COE Bidding Exercise

COE bidding in Singapore follows a uniform-price sealed-bid format. During each exercise, bidders submit the maximum they are willing to pay. When bidding closes, the Quota Premium is set at the lowest successful bid — everyone who wins pays this same price, regardless of their individual bid amount.

The Current COE Price (CCP) displayed during an active exercise is indicative only. It fluctuates as bids are submitted and does not always predict the final QP. Experienced observers watch the CCP trend over the three-day window to gauge market sentiment, but the final result can differ significantly from the last CCP reading.

To prepare for an upcoming exercise, review the bid advisor for current market signals, check price trends for historical context, and use the bidding simulator if you are new to the process.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does COE bidding open and close?
Bidding exercises typically open on a Monday at 12:00pm and close on a Wednesday at 4:00pm. There are two exercises per month — usually in the first and third weeks. Check the schedule above for exact dates.
What is the Current COE Price (CCP)?
The CCP is a real-time indicative price shown during an active bidding exercise. It represents the price that would become the Quota Premium if bidding closed at that moment. The CCP can move up or down as new bids are submitted throughout the exercise.
Can I bid for a COE online?
Individual buyers do not bid directly. Your authorised dealer submits the bid on your behalf through the LTA electronic bidding system. You tell the dealer your maximum bid amount, and they enter it into the system during the bidding window.
What happens after the bidding exercise closes?
LTA processes all bids and determines the Quota Premium (the lowest successful bid) for each category. Results are published on the same Wednesday afternoon. View past outcomes in the results archive.
